1996 TXT stopped moving - motor?
I'm on my wife's kindle please bear with my possible autocorrect mistakes.
My wife and I went for a ride yesterday on my txt. All was good until we went up a relatively mild incline. The cart stopped moving altogether. I towed it back to my campsite and gave it the once over. Everything looked fine batterywise. (The only thing I really know how to look at) This morning I opened up the back looking for some sort of thermal reset or something and ended up pulling the motor off the gearbox and pressing the pedal. The motor barely moves just does more of a wobble. I'm praying the motor isn't bad. I'm not familar with the components between the batteries and the motor. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. |

Also the motor us 76124g02 which seems to be pretty standard.

Cutting out on an incline usually points to a controller failing rather than the motor...controller basically tells cart what speed to go when pedal is pressed.

It is very bad to run that motor if it's not bolted the the rear end do NOT do this any more, what drive system do you have, if the cart is a dcs cart i hope you put it in tow before you pulled it home,?? how old is the battery pack, and what is the pack volts reading??

Sounds to me like you may have a battery problem. Did you check them with a Meter? Can you check again under load? (like when you try to go)
A controller which went into shutdown mode would have worked okay the next day. It may be a solenoid welded closed. |

Re: 1996 TXT stopped moving - motor?
I finally have a day off work and got my meter on the cart. I gave it a full charge overnight, which it seemed to take normally. These are the numbers I got:
#1 6.21v #2 6.3v #3 6.25v #4 6.34v #5 6.19v #6 6.29v With no load, entire series reads 37.6v. Under a load, me pushing the pedal and going nowhere, I got a series reading of 24.35v. Seems like a big dip, but I don't know what's normal either. |
