Default Chip Question

I have a 2005 TXT and the guy I just bought it from said it had the " chip " . I had used my gps and it runs 18 mph constant . HAs a 6" lift I think and has 22" tires . My question is I was poking around and the plug in j2 is blank . There is no red connectors .In diag mode it only beeps once . What else could he have done to get that speed ?

Sounds about right for a stock PDS on 22's, maybe a tad quicker than I would have thought....

The one beep upon entering diagnostic mode is confirming the "All-Terrain" controller performance option.

Just FYI, I wouldn't add the freedom chip with the lift and larger tires. The controller would be at risk of thermal failure from the additional load.

I appreciate the note . So I guess the taller tires get the extra speed ? If I do go to a "chip" The controller may fail due to too much draw from what you are saying . Is that like immediate ? Like first run ? Would a new controller hold up better ? My batteries are getting weak and I was thinking about 48 v . Would this be the time ? New controller , f/r switch and batteries ?Dare I say new buggie OVERLOAD ?????

Flip a coin on controller failure. May release smoke immediately or it may be in stages or it may last until you upgrade. History says it will eventually fail tho'....and if your luck is as good as mine then it will fail at the least opportune time. And that is equivalent to the farthest point away from the cart's domicile.

Upgrade away....lot's of choices on that platform. For grins you can play around with this spreadsheet.

Good luck.

Thanks , last night I made a freedom plug ( ya know I had to ) . Test drove and gps said 23 . Now the addiction starts . Carts unlimited has a nice set up # 808 . I think that will do me good . I was going to go to 48 volt but sollars are limited and dont want to buy a new charger .
