Default 97 TXT DCS Advise!!!

Kinda new to carts, but anyhow I Picked up a 36v '97 txt DCS cart all stock except a lift and 22's, to work on this winter and do some upgrades to. Going into it I knew that the Batteries were bad. the Controller and Sol. was suppost to have been replaced by the previous owner, but the cart still didn't run. I've installed 3-12v auto batts. temporary to try and get the thing running. Nothing is happening. the batts. has 38.2V, Checked Contunity on everything I know to check, also all connections are clean and tight. No Rev. buzzer or no Sol. clicking. also not getting any Volt. on the 9 or 10pin. I've got it at the sol. the motor and also between M- & B- on the controller. Any ideas? ITS, Controller? I was hoping to get it running for the rest of the season the cheapest route possible. Until I can tie into it this winter, when I have a little more time.

Concentrate on getting the solenoid to click(activate) there are 2 small posts on it, you need 36v between or across them for it to engage (close).

on the small post of the sol. and at the key switch. I have .312V there. depress the throttle pedal it goes to .291v. all the way to the 7pin on the controller(Blue wire off of the sol.) can I just jumper from the batt. across the sol. and see if it operates and not do any damage to the controller? or should I try something else?? Thanks for the advise!!!!!!!

31 and 27v is pretty low ... that may not be enough voltage to hold the solenoid engaged? But yes you can jumper the solenoid activation circuit. See which polarity it present & supply the missing side with a jumper, then the cart should run with the peddle if all all else is good.
Put the cart on jacks first.

Ok, Jumped the sol. Seems to work fine that way. Now what could the issue be, that the sol. is not seeing the volt. needed to engage it? ITS? or something else? I traced out all wires and connections seem to be in place. checked continunity on Microswitches all are operating (on off). could the interlock switch (Reed switch) in the charger port have something to do with it? Thanks again for the

Got it, tracked it down to the reed switch. wasn't getting good connection. Where it connects at the charging port. Thanks again for the help Scottyb!!! I'll be contacting you later this fall when I tear into it and do my upgrades!! Once again Thanks Ronboy1
