Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
Howdy...again
I have a series ezgo in front of me that I am beating my head against the wall on. The solenoid will not click, voltage is correct, roughly 36V and I load tested each battery to check. I noticed my key switch voltage is only 22V though, that doesn't seem correct. I'm wondering if that is playing a role with this problem. My back up buzzer goes off when it's in R, however either in F or R, voltage does not drop. What do you guys think? Thank you very much! |

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
As I continue to look, I see in the floor panel box, the microswitch, the red wire has 36V, the green has roughly 22V.

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
That's odd, the controller provides the negative side of the solenoid activation circuit, disconnect it and see which polarity it is now?

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
what happens if you raise the rear tires and put a jumper wire from red to green with key off, then hit pedal with key on?

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
If your getting 36v to one side of the micro and 22v out...doesnt that point to a bad micro?

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
When I hook up my volt meter to the wire directly, green shows 22V red shows 36V, when I put them together, it shows 36V.
With the Key off, then on, I get nothing. No click, movement, etc. Scotty, what would you like me to disconnect? I dont quite understand. Thanks! |

Yes, with my foot off the pedal, is when I took the readings.

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
disconnect the negative side of the solenoid activation circuit and retest.
Or just read what voltage and polarity is coming to the negative side of the solenoid... small post, black wires. |

Re: Ezgo Series Car no solenoid click
With this one, I'd start with the black test lead on B- at battery pack and Key =ON, F/R in F, pedal pressed, and look for 36V at reed switch first and work my way around the series circuit until it dropped to 22V.
Problem is between the first test point measuring 22V and the preceding one. |
