Oil Leak
2008 EZGO PDS..just bought it last weekend
noticed today on the garage floor there were 2-3 small oil drops about the size of a dime or so on the garage floor where we park it. Dark oil havent had a chance to look and try to see where it could be coming from..anything I should look for first? |

Only spot in this cart that takes any kind of oil is your rear end...there is a fill plug on the rear end...could be leaking from there...another possibility is that your batteries are sweating or overfilled and the fluid your seeing is battery acid boiling over after during charging.

the leak is black and gooey...i will check the differential this afternoon
could it also be a wheel seal leaking? |

Yes your are correct, there are oil seals around your axles on the rear also, so check around your brake hubs for those to be leaking

dealer recommends SAE 30 oil but I usually go a little heavier as it keeps the cart quiet..

I just look at my rear diff..looks like it was leaking from one of the bolts that holds the small pan on...tightened the all up some.
just pulled the drain plug out to check level and no oil runs out.. I added some 10w 30 and a little Royal Purple gear oil until it begin to run back out. Will keep a check on it. |

Awesome glad you got it figured out...if it leaks any more, take pan off and lay it on level ground...hit all around flat spots with hammer to level out,clean up and put silicone based sealant around inside of flat spot on pan...reassemble and let sit for 24 hours...that should take care of it if tightening didn't
