TXT Series only 19mph after all the upgrades?
I have a 97' series cart that I put a PQ bandit motor, 400amp alltrax, 4g wires, new 36v battery pack, HD F/R switch, and 23" tires, and my top speed is 19 mph. Does this sound right, or is something wrong? I'm getting greedy, and may have to go to 48v to break the 20mph hump.

Re: TXT Series only 19mph after all the upgrades?
I have a '98 Series and upgrading all the stuff you did should make hill climbing much less excruciating, but will do nothing for top end speed. I don't know anything about the motor, but new motor rpm vs. old motor rpm will answer that. 48 volts is your answer.
I upgraded to eight T-105s, 4855, HD solenoid, 2 AWG, HD FNR, etc. and was pretty pleased with my stock motor. I bought this and was REAL happy: Item #7126AMD 36-volt (6.1-hp@5330 rpm) HIGH SPEED series motor with 19 spline coupler for E-Z-GO 1988-up series cars. Works great on 48-volts! For maximum performance, safety, and durability, 4 gauge cables (#124 throughout the car, heavy duty solenoid and F&R switch are requried. Minimum 400 amp controller required.. Not for use on DCS or PDS cars. Same as D398. 37.6 mph! 5330 rpm at 36 volts = faster at 48! |

Re: TXT Series only 19mph after all the upgrades?
from what I understand the Bandit is just a respun stock motor. 19 isn't too bad, but I feel your pain. I went with a D&D and top at 21... switching to 48 as soon as I can.
Something as small as adding air to your tires can probably get you to 20, but they will wear faster. If you go to 48, please post the results. |

Quote:
Getting the electrical bottlenecks out of the high current circuit took you to the upper end of the specs, or about 3300RPM on 18" tires The PQ Bandit might have upped the speed to about 15MPH, or about 3500 RPM. The increase from stock 18" tires to 23" tires increased the speed from 15MPH to 19MPH at the same 3500RPM Increasing air pressure in tires, removing or lowering windshield if installed, lubricating or replacing wheel bearings and other things that decrease drag may increase top speed a bit, but to get a significant increase in motor RPM, you'll have to increase the voltage. |

Re: TXT Series only 19mph after all the upgrades?
I have a 96 EZGO TXT and I am getting 25 MPH with fully charged batterys and 1 person riding. With 3 people on board I get 23 to 24. I have the same PQ Motor, 4 Guage Wiring, 200 amp solonoid, 400 Amp Alltrex DCX controller. Stock F/R switch. If u have the DCX controller, turn on the Trbo feature in the programming and it should increase your speed. Make sure the tires have the correct tire pressure.

Alltrax DCX controller are programmable. Go to Alltrax and download the software. You must have a 9 pin serial cable. Under the control panel is the TRBO feature. check it and program it.

Re: TXT Series only 19mph after all the upgrades?
HI Guys.
These carts are not the same. The 25mph cart with the turbo option is a SEPEX drive system and ya'll are discussing a series drive cart... that is apples to oranges. |
