Ok, I've used a Dremel tool to cut slots through the race. Stuff a rag in the axle tube to keep the grindings out of the differential. It's not fast, but works great! Don't forget to remove the rag when you're done!!!

If you have a failed bearing and have been cutting on it, you'll want to flush out the rear end. If I recall, I inserted a piece of 1/2" threaded rod into the wheel side of the axle and added a washer and nut from the differential side, which I used to pull the bearing out, like a slide hammer. I may have been able to fit a socket in front of the washer and nut, but don't remember.

You can use a wire feed welder to put about 1 inch of bead on the race. When it cools it will actually be smaller than before you heated it and will come out pretty easy.

I never tried that trick with a mig,I've done it with a stick welder dozens of times,The stick-welder doesn't add material it melts it,so it will shrink. If the Mig works...BONUS!!!!

It took some doing with the slidehammer but I got it done..
I think it had loc-tight on it for Pete's sake..
Thanks for all the replies.

I plan on going a few upgrades during winter, so I'm sure I'll have a few more questions.

If you put a long enough bead with the mig, it'll shrink too. That's a good tip, never even though about that.

If you ever suspect Loc-tite in the future on a part, give it a quick shot of heat, that will break the Loc-Tite.Especially if its' Red (Semi-Permanent),or Green (Bearing-Set or aka.."Weld In A Bottle").This goes for anything,cars,atv,etc...

The red and green have different temperatures for releasing, so look it up when in doubt.
