Default my 98 ezgo series txt rebuild

Hello All,
great site.....

I want an off-road capable buggy that i can haul family/friends and double as my hunting cart. So here is what i am thinking:

fast and has plenty torque
backseat that flips to a deck
lifted with tire/rims

My wishlist is long but the economy is bad down here

1st night started the dismantle phase.

Second night more of the same, plenty rivets and rusted bolts. For the record this is my first remodel of a golf-cart so i dont even know what i dont know yet, if u know what i mean. going forward the plan is to get it stripped to a point where i can sandblast it(what all should i remove prior to blasting?). Then cutout the rusted through parts of the frame and weld in new.

Looks like a great start. Nice to see yet another 98 brought back to life. When checking for rust, don't forget to look from underneath as well as from above. The different perspective can be very interesting.

I have a 97 series cart I just started on. Looks about the same. A lot of rusted parts.

When I had mine all stripped down I flipped it up on it's side to check everything from underneath. Good luck on your build and post lots of pics!

Dunno what your plans are, but if you want to upgrade to 48 volts, there's no time like now to start planning.

I stole this idea from ScottyB, who also has a few pics, which are in the above post.

I never did a full build post, so this doesn't show my high speed motor, but I raced a gasser last night, and was on his tail until he drove around our gate. I used my gate key and waited for it to open, then had to pass another buggy, but got right back on his arse. Coulda passed him, if he hadn't pulled into his driveway.
