91 ezgo no reverse

I have a 90 or 91 ezgo with no reverse it goes forward just fine but when you switch to reverse and push the peddle you just here a little sound kind of like a whistle but it's a very low noise. when you switch it to reverse you can here the switch and everything click just like it does in forward. I am new at these electic cart so if you could help I would appreciate it alot. thanks

The F/R switch needs to be cleaned up or repaired....... You can probably wiggle the F/R handle when in reverse and it will act like it wants to go for a second.

thanks for replying I guess I can take it apart and clean it and all the connections and see if that works I'll try and see what happens thanks

Check the micro switch on the FNR. Make sure the reverse micro arm isn't rolled over and make sure control wires are good. You can bypass the micro.
As Rusty indicated, it may very well be the FNR itself. The cam/studs make not be making inside the FNR.

just some more thoughts.

Had same problem on my 96 and it was the controller

On a 90 or 91 single direction failures can not be the controller. F/R switch or motor is prob.
