Default Question about golf cart lights, odd behavior

I have golf cart lights that have been working fine. Recently they started coming by by themselves even though the flip switch is off. Toggling the switch or unhooking one of the switch wires does nothing but I can get them to go back off after wiggling some of the wiring that runs underneath the cart (I hear a light click in some type of relay under the seat when I wiggle the wires ... I think). What would cause this? I don't know what to replace. Thanks.

I would guess you have a freedom model marathon. The lighting wire harness was a factory add-on. There is a relay that commonly goes bad located under the passenger seat. Take it out and match it up at your local auto parts house.

It's actually a light kit I installed myself some time ago. So the relay I hear clicking is likely bad? The part that I am wiggling is under the golf cart and hard to see but looks like its just a standard harness connector. When I wiggle it, it does make that relay click and the lights go off. Could that connector just not be making good contact? That doesn't seem like it would make the lights cut on (?) ... or would it? The wires do appear to go to the relay though.

you can pull the relay and clean the connections but like Scotty said it sounds like a faulty relay. They are cheap at the parts store. most are the Bosch ones.
