I have a 2001 EZ-GO 36 volt cart. We have used this thing religiously since we bought it about a month ago. Yesterday after using it a number of times riding around the subdivision, I got in it to put it in the garage and placed it into reverse and it went about 15 feet and just stopped. There was no noise heard when it stopped. I tried to get it to go forward and again in reverse numerous times without any success, however, I can hear the solenoid trying to engage. Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this problem???

Start with the basics. Double check all connections on cables and control wires. Check battery voltages.

Give all the connections a good tug, I visually checked a cart 5 or 6 times thinking everything was ok until I yanked on the wires and one was corroded off.

I'll try the tugging. I hooked it up to the charger this morning and normally the amps when charging starts at about 20, this morning, it started at only 10. When charged, I got on it and put it in reverse and it beeps like normal and tries to go but will not move. I have no idea what's going on??

I replaced one of the battery cables this morning. I also went ahead and replaced the solenoid. The cart will shimmer for a second or two and then it quits. I still can't figure it out??

Did you check the battery pack voltage and individual battery voltage?

I've had similar problems lately with the 160 carts I service. Could be your speed control. But definetly check and re check your connections.
