AXE4844 Controller
I bought an AXE4844 controller from ebay that the seller did not know if it was any good or not, he was selling old inventory from an electric car company. For $25 I figured it was worth a shot.
It smells like it has gotten hot in the past, but when powering up on the bench it flashes green 4 times then goes solid green like it is ready to run. It also programs fine with the software. I wont have time to put in in for a few days, but my question to everyone with experience, when a controller is bad does it normally power up fine and display a solid green or does it not come on at all or flash some sort of fault code? Maybe it varies too much to even give an answer. I know I cant know for sure until I hook it up, but was just wondering what others have experienced. Thanks |

Re: AXE4844 Controller
Well I find it hard to believe myself, but I went ahead and put it in and it works! I'd say $25 was a pretty good deal for an axe4844. I figured I was buying a $25 paper weight.

Re: AXE4844 Controller
You said it smelled like it had gotten hot.... controller damage is accumulative, so if it has been going into thermal shut down it may continue to do so? Then again much will be determined by the loads you put on it, best of luck with it, looks like the buy of the year right now.

Yeah, I thought about that Scotty, I'm gonna keep my axe4834 around until I'm sure it's gonna work out ok.
