i want to build a hunting cart and need advice

i want to build a hunting cart but dont know were to start. so i need some advice from some of the experts here. a few questions i have are should i go 36 or 48 volt and what are the atvantages i would need some torqe to go up some hills. but would like to keep my speed up around 20mph and what ever else i would need i think i found a cart for 1500 bucks tell me if this would be a good deal also what kind of cart this is here are some some picts thanks for any advice you can give me

Looks like a series or DCS cart. Is there a run/tow switch on the controller cover under the passenger seat?

No run tow switch is that good or bad

Either way they are both good carts, your looking at a series cart. Series carts make more torque than any other drive system, the trade off is they make less speed. An excellent choice for off road use. You can make them go 20-25mph but you have to go a little deeper into the build to do it.

Thank you for he reply . Ok what do I need to do to this cart to keep the speed of say 20 mph and still have all the low end torque I need to climb up hills at a creep...this cart is 36 vol ts what would be the advantage of upgrading to 48 volts .

Forget climbing up hills at a creep.
It's very hard on them. It draws too much amperage & makes too much heat in my experience.

20mph in a series cart will require 48v and an aftermarket torque motor. By the time you are done buying all the necessary performance parts you will have close to $2000 invested to get that kind of performance.
It is easier to build for torque or build for speed than both.

looks like a nice cart to start with.

very pricy to build for torque & speed together.

15mph off road is pretty effective imho

On the one I'm building now I put a 400 amp controller, HD F/R, 2 ga cables, HD Solenoid, and converted to 48 volts. It runs 20 mph exactly on flat pavement and has awesome torque. I'm still running the stock motor. It's lifted with 22" tires.

That's good, 16-18 is more the average for that set up, you might have the hi-speed motor originally.
Increasing the voltage will give 30-33% more torque and speed. Stock speed is say 12mph + 33% (4mph) equals 16mph and then the tire size increase from 18 to 22 will give you 2-3 mphs usually

Most of the guys are putting the 500a control in their carts. The bigger controller is better suited for an aftermarket motor lalter.

No, it's a fleet speed motor. I thought that was pretty good too. Some carts just seem like everything "clicks" on and this is one of them. I get very few carts like this one where everything comes apart and goes back together like it should. It was an indoor cart that was used in a warehouse so I guess that has a lot to do with how everything comes apart.
