8 6v's vs. 6-8v's batteries

The big question and haven't seen a thread requarding it.. 6 8's or 8 6's, power, longevity, or 4 12's.... the carts not used daily, but when used, i want it to work hard... like the cordless drill, hate having to constantly change batteries and eventually get the corded one out... we have some good hills where we camp and i'd hate to get stuck if the batteries drain too fast from having too few, like in 4-12's..help!!!!? ty

8 6's would give you the longest run-time...although that is also the most costly method...

Thank you, 8 6's it'll be.... last trip to daughter's house, bout a mile away, slowed to a crawl 4 blocks away, and quit in the driveway..... let it charge for 2 hrs to get home, then back on the charger til morning...

No, I hadn't charged it in better part of 2 weeks, no meter on it at all to tell me how close to dead it was. i took off from my house doing the 14 ish mph, turned a corner 4 blocks from the daughters house and it dropped to maybe 4 mph, so I limped into her driveway where it died..... The sellers never mentioned how often to charge, just to make sure the batteries were topped and 'have a nice day!'. I didn't find this sight til 4ish days after the dead battery mishap.. I feel so grateful to have found this sight, I no longer feel like the freshman not knowing shiiioot

Put a battery meter on to protect your investment, very deep discharges will shorten the useful life of a pack.

Sounds like you are going to be buying some new batteries in the foreseeable future.
Fully charge them before first use.
Okay to drive it a furlong or so to make sure it works, but let them fully charge before going over to daughter's house.
Note, the first charge takes a long time, possibly 16 hours or more.

Next, break them in properly. New batteries only have about 75% of their maximum storage capacity and have to be broken in to obtain 100%.

While on the site, read everything with the word Battery in title. Lots of good info.

Also, you are going to 48V and if you need a 48V charger, the DPI charger that Carts Unlimited sells is a good one.
It goes into a float charge mode after the regular charge completes.
I have the 36V version and more or less leave it plugged into my cart when I'm not driving cart
