Default 2007 TXT help

I got a call from a friend who has a 2007 txt and havent had a chance to look at the cart yet but I am trying to get a grip on what the problem could be before driving out there because he lives pretty far. I have a lot more experience with Club Car carts and not EZ-GO. The solenoid clicks when the accelerator pedal is pressed but it doesnt move. Apparently the sprinkler may have come on for a while when the cart was parked over the top of it so that may be where the problem lies. I am assuming the speed accelerator box or similar to a club car MCOR would be located under the vehicle. What does that consist of on these carts and can they be tested with a DVM? Also is the controllers on the 07 sealed or just an open unit behind a plastic cover and can they be tested also? Im just trying to get a grip on how these units run so I can hopefully check it and diagnose it all in one shot. THanks

They use an ITS or induction tube type position sender. Basically they can't work when wet. Testing is as follows, if needed access is not the best. Remove the rocker panel, lift floor mat, remove cover behind the peddle. Apply generous amounts of hair dryer if moist .... The controller is under a cover, once removed all connections are accessible.
Which drive system is it?

Sorry upload not co operating.

I experienced the same problem after washing the cart one day. Solenoid clicked but didn't go anywhere. Swapped it out the next day and away it went.

Mine with ITS does the same when I wash the buggy even if I don't wet the floor board. Sometimes solenoid doesn't click (pedal micro), sometimes it clicks but won't go (ITS). My problem lies in a MOLEX plug that has four wires to the above two items, and it located near the FNR.

Unplugging and replugging this always gets mine going. Gonna cut that pesky plug out and solder it directly the weekend.

Im pretty sure its a PDS drive system. Do these carts have curtis controllers that a handheld programmer can be plugged into? That would be the easiest way as I have one. As far as the ITS goes can it be tested with a DVM with it disconnected? Maybe my thinking is off but with the vm set to ohms and by moving the position sensor should see a change in ohms on the dvm to detect if its working properly?

PDS carts also have a diagnosis mode build into them...follow the instructions on the controller cover to help diagnose...cart will beep with error codes

TXT carts with PDS use a 1206MX controller and I don't think the handheld programmer works with it.

If it is a PDS (F/R selector is a rocker switch on dash), be sure to flip Run/Tow switch on Controller cover to Tow before disconnecting any wires.
Other wise, the controller might decide to give up the ghost.

You can check for continuity in the ITS circuit with an Ohmeter, but not operation.
With negative DVM lead on main negative post of battery pack, with key on and F selected and everything connected, J4-P4 should read 15V +/- 1.0V.
With throttle pressed until solenoid first clicks, J4-P3 should read 1.0V +/- 0.3V and with pedal on floor it should read 2.9V +/- 0.4V.

Here's a schematic for a PDS cart.
And you can download the Owners, Service and Parts manuals from the stickies.
(They are the *.pdf files here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html)

Good luck.
