93 Marathon
I recently purchased a 93 Marathon I intend to put a 4" lift and 22" tires on it. This cart will be used mainly around the ranch. Cart seems to run fine on level ground (I guesticate about 15 mph), however when going up any incline the cart slows to about 5mph. Would replacing the controller help? Or an EMP motor? OR just upgrading wires?

Re: 93 Marathon
93 is series Marathon model.
They made both resistor and controller type speed systems in 93. DCS didn't start until 96 I believe. |

Re: 93 Marathon
Start by making yourself a bood set of #4 welding cable battery cables. They will help now and whatever you do later, you will still need them
After that you can look for a bigger controller. Unless this is a resistor cart? |

Re: 93 Marathon
Check your accelerator pot box resistance for a smooth increase from 0 ohms at stop to 5k ohms at wide open throttle. This can be adjusted but be aware that they are very touchy.
That year Marathon will do well to get 12-14mph on flats and they will struggle up inclines. Sometimes the pot gets out of whack and controller won't "deliver" all it has to motor. Good luck. BTW, this will only work if your cart has an ESC. |

Re: 93 Marathon
Thanks all,
Yes the cart is a controller cart. Im struggling between a bigger controller or an EMP motor. Any thoughts |
