1990 elec. marthon does not run

I have a 1990 36v elec. marthon that just bought and it does not run batterys are 8 years old but have been tested and all test at 6v with out a load. I have cleaned all battery connections real good also had the motor out and gone through. Have tested the siloned and test good but i was told it should make a click when hit gas and i do not hear it and also have tryed to jump the siloned and does nothing. does anyone have any ideas it does nothing at all.

Only 6V on the batteries means either bad batteries or they aren't charged.
What do they read 12 hours after the charger automatically shuts off?
Should be 6.37V and all should be withing 0.1V of each other.
Here is a chart showing State of Charge vs voltage.

Get the batteries fully charged as soon as possible and then keep them as fully charged as possible or practical.
Basically, the batteries should be fully charged or are in the process of being charged, when you are not actually driving cart.

With Key ON and F or R selected, the solenoid should click when the pedal is pushed.

Does your cart have a electronic speed controller, or is it the resistor drive type?
