distilled water
does the bottle drinking water you buy as good as distilled?

thnx for the reply crzn....... plus iv'e read 1/8 inch over the lead and 1/4 under the filler tube. is either one correct?

I fill mine about a 1/4 inch above the plates, but I trail my cart alot. The batts get shaken around alot.

At LEAST 1/4 above the plates BEFORE charging. If they have water at least 1/4 above the plates fully charge them and then fill the rest of the way AFTER charging.
