Cool How to Wire Solenoid

I bought a brand new White Rogers solenoid for my EZGO Marathon Electric. I am not sure How to hook up the small posts on this solenoid. I do know where the wires go on the big posts but not the Small ones so I need to know how to hook the small ones up. So that is my First question.

My second question is I know I am supposed to put a resistor on the large posts of the solenoid but how do I know what direction to put the Diode on the Small Posts. That is My Second Question.

This is my New Solenoid.

Thanks,

Matt

An easier question would be does the Wire from the Pot Boxes Micro switch coming from the Normally Closed hole go on the Positive or Negative side of the solenoid? That will tell me the wire coming from the controller goes to the other small post.

The solenoid coil is between small terminals and they are not polarized.

However, the diode is polarized.

Unlike most other carts, the solenoid coil on a resistor cart is in the middle of the solenoid activation circuit rather than at the end, so it would be best to measure the voltage at the small terminals when solenoid is activated, then connect the banded end of the diode to the most positive terminal.

I think, that would be the wire coming from the pedal microswitch, but measure the voltage to be sure.
