Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
First cart, sits in garage unless being used,, question being: this winter, if I and or can I take the cart out into the snow and have some fun , I'm know not to leave it outside for long periods of time, but the kid in me wants to experience the snow in a whole new way... When I get the snowblower out the wife knows I'm out doing everyones driveways, 'playing', as I call it, now the cart adds another toy, donuts anyone????

What's snow?
Fully charged batteries will not freeze until some very ridiculous point below zero, So as long as you are not running the pack way down below 50% and leaving out in the cold you should not have a problem. |

Re: Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
Thank you Scottyb, the wife will hate me this winter, I direct the snow thrower straight up to see how high the rooster tail of snow goes, not it'll be how big of a drift I can tackle with knobby tires.. would it be good to maybe stick a paper towel all scrunched up into the charge plug recepticle??

Re: Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
You are asking the wrong person I haven't seen snow in 35 years
I guess you could do that or use some wide low residue painters tape |

Use a piece of duct tape. Seriously, a flap or cover of some kind might be a good idea. The southern shore of Lake Erie gets a little chilly at times, so don't let the batteries get too low. The electrolyte in fully charged cart batteries freezes at about -92°F and about -4°F when at 50% SoC. |

Re: Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
Okies, didn't think of the paper getting wet, duct tape wins again. one thought, and I guess this ones for Johnny, if on super bowl sunday, I wheel the cart out into the driveway, good or bad having it sit there thru-out the whole game... the garage is where the smokers go in my house...

Re: Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
As long as the batteries are close to being fully charged, it doesn't matter as long as the outside temperature is above 50 below.

Re: Winter fun.... and freezing batteries
Don't do this, leave the cart in the garage and put the smokers outside. They will live longer as I doubt they will hangout on the driveway very long

Gotta side with Scotty this time, never smoked, never will....discusting habit.......... But being the curtious individual that I am... heated garage, lcd or projector with the game on, and I'll pull the toy outside....
