1985 electric motor help
Hi, I need some help, please. I have a 1985 three wheel electric cart which runs, me and the family took it all over WDW last year. I am not the original owner and I am thinking I should rebuild the motor, what should my course of action be? New motor? Or is there some type of rebuild kit? What do I do about the controller ? Thank you for the help

Re: 1985 electric motor help
about the only thing you can do with out a machine shop is change the brushes. if you really want to rebuild it you should have the commutator turned and the mica cut and dipped and bake the armature. and change the bearings at the same time. if it runs fine i would check the brushes and let it go.

Agree, and if you want it rebuilt send it to PQ. They can refresh that motor for you

Great, thank you for all the info. I will probably go the PQ route.
