Default 03 EZ-GO TXT 36v lifted, should I buy?

I am looking for an electric golf cart to use mainly to ride around my property and for hunting. I have found a 03 ez-go txt, it is lifted wih good tires, and the owner claims the batteries are around 1.5yo. I have not looked at it yet but plan to this afternoon. He is asking 2500obo. If this a decent price, and will a 48 volt be better? What type of speed, power, and range should I expect from a 36 volt versus a 48 volt. And assuming I wanted a little more power, speed or range what are my options as for upgrades trying to stay as cheap as possible though.

Thanks,

I use my cart for riding around our property and hunting as well. It is about as upgraded as a 36v cart could be (EMP 2spd motor, 4865 Alltrax, HD FNR, 2/0 ga cables, 1000 amp solenoid and the list goes on) and for the most part it does OK.

Had I known when I got it what I know now the first thing would have been a 48v conversion!

Price sounds good, especially if the batteries are that new. In case you do not know how to determine the year of the batteries, there should be a number (which is the last number in the year of manufacturing 9=2009 0=2010 1=2011) and a letter (which correlates with the month A=January, B=February, C=March). Good luck and have fun with it!!!
