EZ-GO Brake bracket

I have a brake issue - When putting my cart back in the trailer when the ramps were rather steep, I managed to sheer off the bracket that holds the brake cables near the front. I was told that this bracket is part of the chassis - but want to try to make a part that we can weld into place.

Mine is a 1991 model (22191 - so is that Feb 21, 1991?) - I actually bent the rod that leads to the spring that sets the parking brake - so it looks like we may to replace that piece. Any of you have any experience with this?

I am in SF and it is hard to find old carts that people part out. Anne

Anne, I have an old 82 cart and can still get parts from online sources. But a bracket like your problem sounds like a trip to your local welder. They can fabricate almost anything and stronger than original.
Today I was actually installing a new brake cable, so I think I know which bracket you are talking about. Bracket is welded to frame, but will not interfere with structural integrity of cart. Just have new one fabed and good to go.
