terminology question
what is meant by a "thick can" motor or a "thin can"?

Most likely a reference to the motor's housing being made from cast metal (thick) or from rolled sheet (thin).

I dunno. My 16 year old 2hp GE took a crapload of abuse from me and was still running like a champ when I replaced it with the 8hp D&D limo can. No complaints from me about that thin can!

I was inquiring about something on the Plum Quick forum and the response was whether I had a thin can motor or thick can motor. Just wasnt sure what he was refering to
