Steering Issue
Ive got a 97 series cart that has the springs located to the top of the axle to clear 21s. when you turn left, sometimes itll turn fine and other times, the wheel will free spin. Im not too familiar with how this steering box is so would just replacing my steering gear fix this issue? or is there something I can just tighten like a ross box on a club car? Really just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue and what fixed it before I end up replacing all of it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Steering Issue
The steering wheel freespins when turning left or right if you do not push downwards on the steering wheel. I know I can buy the whole assymbly haha but Im asking if there are anyways to adjust whats there. I dont want to spend the $300 bucks worth of parts just to find out I could have adjusted something.

Re: Steering Issue
Yes, something like that. This is kinda a new one. If the nut is not tight the wheel can lift up out of the splines and cause the steering wheel to move freely. Normally the wheel is on the shaft pretty tight and even if the splines wore out you would still get some grab from the nut on the shaft.

Re: Steering Issue
I just though, this could be a problem, since he stated "if you don't push down on the steering wheel".

Re: Steering Issue
I made sure that was tight and all of the splines are fine on it...Im confused too haha When the steering wheel doesnt spin freely, there is minimal play in the steering. I guess that points to the pinion not the rack but idk. guess im just gonna replace it all just to be on the safe side. Thanks for yalls help.
