Series cart, hot wires on F\R Contact Board

I was having this problem before I replaced my batteries. I needed new batteries and during the upgrade to 8 T-105's, I disassembled my EZ-Go's TXT Series contact board assembly and "cleaned" all of the copper surfaces and\or contact points up, along with the wiring ends from the Board to the Motor.

This is a 48-V system with all 4-ga. wiring.

Now, when I drive the cart on a long uphill, three of the board wires get hot. (Hot to the point of I can't touch them) The fourth is fine as I replaced it about a month ago.

Now, I guess I may be answering my own question....but is this just telling me to replace the other three wires that go from the Board to the motor?

make sure your cable ends are tight, but IMO like you said, replace them.

Ok, thanks for confirming my assumption. Now, where can I buy the 4ga. cables that go from the board to the motor?

The one that I replaced....well....actually I had that made by my brother who just happen to have a junk piece of equipment in his shop at the time with 4 gauge wire that ran all over it. So, before it went to the junk yard, he cut the needed wire and crimped me the ends. Yeah....I know....Why didn't I have him make me all 4?

Let me get back to you on that.

So....where's a place to buy these gizmo's at?

I also upgraded to 48 volts by adding 8 T-105s. How big a controller do you have? I have a 500 amp, so I went with 2 AWG cables.

I'd buy 'em from ScottyB. Buy a complete set.

My controller is the Alltrax 4855. So it's a 500 amp with the 8.5" heat sink. Go to the alltraxinc web site and you can see the controller I have. I attempted to link it, but since I'm a new member I can't do that until I've been around for 7 days. Spammers....they screw up the world for regular people who just try to learn stuff!!!

Again, I'm very pleased with the "new" distance performance of the T-105's. I've had the cart out a few times now on places that I normally go and where I've usually "got nervous" about juice to get back, I'm now not anywhere near half-empty (or is that now more than half-full?).

I went a little different route on the wire replacement. First, since I have a master mechanic in the family, that's a big plus. So, I ordered a 20-foot roll of 4ga. welding wire from a wire supply house, along with the crimp on wire ends.

My master mechanic has the crimp tool...as well as the equipment for doing the soldering. So.....bada-bing!!!! Brand new wires for "on da cheap."

Now.....I wonder if I can get him to do the install????
