Default HID conversion

Has anybody installed any of the HID converson bulbs in the plastic ezgo headlamp housings? I was wondering about the heat melting the housing and also about the brightness compared to the halogen bulbs

Go LED. Why do you need HID?

Is there an LED upgrade available for factory style lights? I found the HID kits on ebay for about 40.00 and it seems like a good upgrade for the price if they wont melt my headlight housings.

I have wired up one of these kits - utilizing the factory headlight housing. I have heard conflicting feedback about the temp of the bulbs - but haven't finished wiring the cart to know for sure.

What I do know is that they will be much brighter than LED but also require significantly more amps!

LED is a better energy factor. There are many ways to go what ever you want if you google it. Send me a Message and I can tell you what I did. But for real there a ton of ways to go. Without going HID.

I put the 55W HID bulbs in my standard light housings, works fine, super bright and has not melted anything in over a year. The will kill a fully charged 12v marine battery in no time flat though.

Go another route unless you are running off a voltage reducer.

I always thought the HID bulbs used less power than the halogens

I haven't installed mine in the cart yet, but I had one mocked up on my work bench. I had it on for 15 min with no problem. 55 watts and boy are they bright!!!

Do they draw more power than the halogens?
