Cart clicks but wont go?
Hello everyone,
Im new to the forum and new to the golf cart world so take is easy on me I have a 96 EZGO TXT 36V It ran great until the other night I pulled it in the garage and the next morning it wouldnt move? When I press the peddle the solenoid clicks but it will not go... I charged the batteries over night and still nothing. (the batteries are less than 2 years old) After charging, all batteies measure around 6.5 volts. but when I try to measure the pack voltage I only get about 19v? I'm assuming Im measuring this wrong maybe??? I took the measurement at the end of the two big wires coming off the pack going to the solenoid? I was trying to follow some of the trouble shooting I was seeing on another post but I couldnt get past this. Also there are two smaller wires I believe one orange and one white that are not connected to anything? One looks like it comes out of the controller and one from the battery charger port? Thanks in advance for any help!!! Bill |

Re: Cart clicks but wont go?
If the solenoid clicks we won't worry about the white/red wire coming out of the back of the charge receptacle, it has been bypassed. The orange wire is likely the half speed reverse option, so no problem not being connected.
Sounds like you may have a series cart? possibly an F&R problem or loose connection of one of the 13 high amperage cables. Identify your drive system, please. |

Re: Cart clicks but wont go?
Check pack voltage between the two battery posts where the white and black cables coming from the charger port are connected.

Also, I'm noticing that I'm not getting a steady reading when I try to take the pack voltage? My meter is set at 20 DC and reads 1_ _._ _ ? It will jump to 18 or 19 if I move it around the posts?

I don't know much at all, but when something very similar happened to me, I lubricated the switch assembly with dielectric grease so that they made better contact, and would move the cart again.

Re: Cart clicks but wont go?
If you're trying to measure pack voltage, you need to put your meter on a setting that is higher than you're trying to read.
