1993 EZGo lacking power up hills with new batteries
Hello all,
I've got a 1993 EZGO electric. I've recently replaced all 6 6-volt batteries. A few weeks ago, the cart broke down, woundn't move. I took it to a cart guy that's worked on carts for years. He diagnosed a bad solenoid (it was only showing 24 volts when accelerator was pressed. Easy fix. However, he looked in his stock and was out of new solenoids and put on a used one for $ 35. The cart runs, but I've noticed I have less power going up hills, even early in the round. Later in the round, it's much worse. Is it possible that this used (old) solenoid is causing problems or is it an "all or nothing type device". On flat surfaces, I don't notice any issues. I have yet to have a rider with me on the 2nd nine holes, but I don't think there will be enough power to get up this steep hill we have on the back 9. I've gone 36 holes + with this cart in the past prior to the new batteries. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Chip |
