Default 2010 EZGO PDS - Battery Posts

Looks like the previous owner didn't take care of the batteries on my cart. When I first bought this cart I cleaned the batteries (baking soda) and applied the battery corrosive preventive spray.
Now I'm going to replace the battery cables since they are showing corrosion on the cables and some of the ends were replaced with the car battery lugs. But looking at the posts the threaded posts are so corroded that wouldn't hold a nut and some of the others the nut is almost gone... Horrible looking.
I didn't notice all this before now.... Just learning about carts.

So is there a fix for this? Beside replacing battery? Or ride it out until it's time to replace the batteries?
Can the threaded post be replaced? I would think it would be difficult and have to be drilled out.

THOUGHTS! :)

Here is how to do it:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/batte...nal-repair.php

The studs are actually Hex-head bolts with the head embedded in the molting lead during the manufacturing process.

Also, you mentioned that some of the cables have post type terminals on them. If the batteries have car battery posts in addition the the studs, putting car battery type ends on the worst offenders might get you by until you can replace both batteries and cables.

Excellent... Thanks JohnnieB.

The battery in the pic has the same posts as mine. Offset with a threaded post in the center. Looks like fun....
