Marathon has 2 pairs of wires coming from the POT. One set sends the ohm signal to the control. The other set reduces the ohm signal. Where is the second set and are they connected in any way?

Even though you replaced the floor panel, the mount for the pedal shouldn't have changed. The rod, under the floor is adjustable. If you need to adjust it the ball end at the controller is a quick disconnect type of ball end. You simply pull the neck of the rod end connection back to unhook it from the controller stuffs/mechanicals. Then with two wrenches you undo the jamn nut on the rod and shorten it a bit so it pulls more so you get up into the 5k ohms region.

Hope that helps.

Of course I forgot to mention to follow the book on your cart and make sure your PoT and switches are all set up correctly.

Good luck and keep us informed.

yeah my bracket that the pedal mounted too was completely rusted away so i just mounted my pedal to my floor that i thickened up in that spot. the rod is adjustable , i can adjust to achieve the 5500ohm reading, is the reason my cart is running slow because its only going up to 3000ohm or does that not affect the speed or power of the motor.

Throttle range in your cart is 0-5k ohms. You are essentially getting a 3/4 throttle position signal from the peddle when it is fully depressed now... Make whatever adjustment is necessary to see your pot out put reach 5000 ohms to reach full power.
