Default It's happening to me!

Man. I really tried to be happy with my new cart.
I am a mobile forklift mechanic and have worked on several carts through the years. Got a 1999 txt Series cart for payment of few hrs. Labor. (Jumped batt. Pack and replace fuse in charger on Yamaha)
My customer said "you can have that old cart for payment!" And I took them up on It. :0

Remove front body and cut/weld/repair bent frame, repack wheel brgs. Adj. brakes. Remove motor, clean inspect.
Install 36v led head lights.
Install 6mo old batts. I had purchased from Craig's list floor sweeper $100 :)

Drove it all around property and near by lake and fire roads.

Purchased
new wheel/Tires (standard)
2g cables throughout
Scotty's HD for. Rev. Switch
Scotty's volt meter gauge.
Used roof and windshield $50

Been driving it a lot! With my 2.5year old daughter Having tons of fun and am amazed how this thing runs. Climbing up grades I never would of thought possible. (Checked few times that the electrolyte wasn't spilling out of batts on some really steep sections)

Here I am now.... Absolutely obsessed with making it work better, look better.

My house borders some water district land with several lakes and remote rugged fire road trail system. In the eve. My daughter and I (giving mommy a much needed break!) go out and explore.
Furthest ride so far is 8 mi. With LOTS of climbing. The dry California ground was not a prob. For stock course approved tires. Especially after dropping pressure down @ 12-15psi. This made a big difference in handling fist and some cantaloupe size rocks.
Only about 10-20% discharged.
The cart has great torque and I like the fact that the tires do not mess the yard up and also leave hardly any evidence when I'm on this neighboring trail system.

SO WHY DO I WANT TO CHANGE IT SO BAD?

I'm almost to the point of lying to my wife when She asks "are you still looking at golf cart stuff?"

Guess they are addicting!

My name is foot hill... I'm a cartiholic

Some pics..

I think? I want 3" lift (jakes spindle or all Sport drop axle) and a sensible size easy on my yard trail tire.
Then...controller... This is crazy!! :)

Thanks for reading and feel free to help with my obsessive hobby/habit. ..

Ah Foothill...I feel for you man. The addiction is toxic and the only real medicine is "buy more stuff or just drive the crap out of it until something breaks and then have a good excuse to buy something." As for the lying to the wife...believe me, she'll catch on. Just make it all about her. "Look honey, I can take little (fill in name) out to play and stay out longer giving you more time to yourself."

Seriously, glad you're having fun. That's what its all about.

Very good advice 1moretoy. Welcome foot hill. Those pictures of your daughter with the cart are adorable If your honest with your wife and she gets some "me" time? How can she say no to putting a smile on a little girls face.

Hi foothills and thank you for sharing that is what this group is for not to cure your disease but to make it grow and thrive till you are tatttood with a cart on your ARM looking for the next hill climb just so you can get your cart fix in. Tell wife the lift kit is for your child. Remember being able to justify our addiction is half the battle

Well......it's like this.....I live in Pennsylvania. My Chevy Silverado sits outside all year long....while my EZ-GO cart.....sits inside my heated garage.

What does that tell you?

Yea,know what you mean.I had two lifted Ford Broncos I was obsessed with.Almost got papers served to me because of them.Got rid of them ,and things calmed down.

Now that I have this teeny little cart,I can "feel her love" all over again.See ,I took any early retirement in May.She said"you need to find a hobby".I did .The cart.I tell her "it was your idea"She's not buying it for one second.Just can't please her.

At least the UPS man loves me.........

Sorry, I can't help... I can only sympathize and offer parts

It is a healthy obsession. Lots of men spend the same money in lots of different hobbies. Hobbies are recreation which we all need to recoup from work which we can't escape... so go on, get little 3" spindle lift and an ahuuga horn. It's good for the soul.

When all else fails, remember the cardinal rule.

"It's easier to ask forgiveness than to get permission."

Other option for your cart is a 3 inch drop axle. I put one on my "plain" cart just to give it a little height. Got tired of hitting my head on the roof when I walked around the back of it. I put an AllSports on mine. Price was right through a sponsor. Had a little trouble with the new tie rods threading but worked it out. Also because I stuck with the 3 inch, I kept the original tires and it doesn't look goofy.

Good luck with the obsession...

^ have used that card way too much. ;)

An ahuuga horn? She would kill me!
Already had to wrap electrical tape around backup alarm as it bothered her.
(Left it in place because of safety issue with new drivers)

All good (and funny) advice. I might actually have her read this thread... See I'm not the only one;)
