Constant buzz, won't move
Great site. I'm hoping someone can help like the many others I've read.
I have a 1998 EZGO Electric. Was going up a slight incline and it just stopped. Now makes the buzz (like in reverse), with the key in the off position in forward, reverse, etc. If the batteries are connected it's buzzing. I've checked the batteries, connections, etc...all good. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated, THANKS. |

Welcome to BGW
Sounds to me you may have a short somewhere in the control wiring harness or a bad microswitch possibly. |

lift seat and pull each cable to make sure one didn,t crod off at terminal.......if all ok than get a volt meter take reading from each battery and take pack reading, also if you can load test them but post your battery voltage readings.......................................... ....

Re: Constant buzz, won't move
Thanks for the feedback. Luckily I have a great mechanic/neighbor, who's retired. He checked it out and norrowed it down to a short in the speed control box.
He replaced the solenoid, but that didn't do it. Estimate for control/maintence box is like $500-600. I'm over my head...so I'm asking for your help and feedback, thanks. |

Re: Constant buzz, won't move
Great neighbor and mechanic...he's repaired my '57 Ford 8N a couple of times, this golf cart and a couple other cars. Rebuilt another neighbor's golf cart and builds/races his own drag car - Super Pro class.
I definately trust him completely and since he's not charging me for time/labor he's got no reason to not give me the straight scoup. Thanks. |

Re: Constant buzz, won't move
there are a lot of other things i would check before i would assume its the controller, there are several test to determine if its bad however you need the service manual to test it right.......500 is a lot to spend to put it in and find out thats not what happened........................you said he checked it out and narrowed it down to controller but put a solenoid on anyway? this is what i mean.......how did he narrow it down?.....................................
