Battery post looks melted and sunk in!?
My battery trojan t105 looks as though one of the post has melted and almost like it has sunk in to the battery. The plastic looks as though it might have melted too. Any reason why this would happen and how do I proceed from here? Thanks!

You may also have to replace that battery if it now leaks fluid or is weak. |

Re: Battery post looks melted and sunk in!?
I recently (as of last Friday) had the same problem. I melted a terminal due to an excessive hill pull and the connector on the A2 lug on motor weakened and broke... hence the bad connection

Re: Battery post looks melted and sunk in!?
Being that the plastic around it is warped or melted would it be safe to assume that a new battery is needed? And with that is a whole other issue! This summer is the only time the batteries have been used. They were bought two years ago as the cart was being restored. I can't imagine paying for a whole set to replace one, but I have heard about issues with just replacing one!? Suggestions?!

Re: Battery post looks melted and sunk in!?
That is Mc Nasty. Either the cable connection became loose or corroded & presented very high resistance. The Battery looks to be 3 years 2 months old. The battery could have had an internal short also? I would hunt down another battery and a set of cables.

Re: Battery post looks melted and sunk in!?
How do u know the age of the battery? And when u say cables, do you mean all, or just the affected ones. Is this something fairly normal or a fluke!?
