More power requires more money to be spent. More volts is the ultimate power gain, but an upgraded controller and motor are usually a prerequisite to more power.

It depends somewhat on which of the three drive systems you have.
At TXT is a body style and it came with Sepex motor (DCS pre-2000 and PDS post-2000 and there was some overlap) or a Series motor.

In general terms:
Amps = Torque
Volts = RPM

That sounds like a DCS cart, but 20MPH isn't stock.

What size tires are on it?
Stock tires are typically 18x8.50-8. Taller tires increase speed, but reduce torque.

Pictures of batter pack and controller would help.

Plug you serial number into this website and it should tell you how it rolled out of the factory: http://www.shopezgo.com/customer-ser...ialNumber.html

Got to the link I posted and it will show you where to look.
I suspect you have either a TXT or a Medalist body style.

The lack of power might very well be a battery issue. You only have about 50% of the normal battery capacity.

If your cart is a DCS and it is doing 20MPH on stock height tires, you do not have a stock controller.

However, there were a few PDS carts produced in 2000 that had a F/R by the driver's right knee instead of a rocker switch on the dash. If it is one of those, they will do almost 20MPH (18-19 MPH) in the Freedom Mode.
