I suppose I'll remove the wires to solenoid and see if frame voltage goes away if not isolate the controller and see if voltage on frame remains and then the only thing left is if motor has shorted out and went to ground unless anyone has a differant idea?

Take a pic of whole battery bay and post please. Hard to tell but it looks like a Curtis controller. Cables are pretty dirty.

Bottom line though is if you have voltage into frame, something is providing it from the system so it's time to start isolating everything even if you have to do it one at a time. PITA for sure but you have to start somewhere.

Ok pg, any input would be helpful-kinda shooting in the dark with prior owner changing stuff out from original.

Please identify what the arrows are pointing at and where they connect within system.

Sorry but I'm probably going to bail on you. This is a custom build/conversion that I don't recognize at all. Maybe some one else will jump in if they recognize any thing.

Still my prior advice is valid and isolating each part of system will eventually show the culprit. I'd check the motor first though.

LOL, the 1 arrow is pointing to some colored lights and the other is my oooga horn-I'm taking the motor leads off next to see if field coil and armature is good.

Now I see! You know that feeling you get when you think you recognize something but just can't seem to get a grasp on what it is. Happens to me more than I care to admit. Good luck. I know you will find the culprit.....well, eventually.

Keep us posted. Sorry I was of no help.

Well thanks pg-motor checks out good but the 1 print I found said put white band on diode on solenoid goes towards mounting plate-WRONG smoke that darn thing- hopefully radio shack might have a match.

on an electric cart nothing should be grounded to the frame or anywhere else besides a negitive post on a battery..........so double check that all your grounds go to a battery and look for any wires that might have been rubbed thur the insulation..................................
