EZ-GO won't go
I have a 1990 EZ-GO textron, I was told when I bought it , that it worked perfect but the barreries were dead. I replaced the batteries but it won't go. I have 36 volts from the batteries, 36v to the motor, i ran a direct power test to the motor and it ran fine. I've taken the forward reverse switch apart and cleaned it and checked for continuity, and it was fine also. All the micro switches are working, the solenoid clicks and has 36 volts. But it still won't go.I know I need to replace something but I'm not sure what, if anyone can help I would be forever in your debt. Thank you in advance

Jump the solenoid and see if it goes.

Re: EZ-GO won't go
Thanks for the welcome everyone. I forgot to post, I tried a solenoid jump that didn't work either.

Re: EZ-GO won't go
Do you have a negative lead from the pack to the motor? And a hot positive lead from the solenoid to the speed controller? Is pos. power coming out of the speed controller?
You may want to put the cart up on blocks and start testing with the voltmeter. Follow the wiring diagram for the cart with the meter and see where the power stops..... |

Re: EZ-GO won't go
Yes it has what looks like a curtis speed controller. I have 36v giong into it and 36v to the motor, but when I step on the pedal all it does is click.

Have you checked the throttle pot?
