Default Body rivet ????

So can anyone tell me what type of rivet is used on the bodies? I am assuming it is a pop rivet, but I want to make sure I understand before I get too deep into my new project.

Also if they are all pop rivets would This pneumatic gun work?

All of the metal rivets on the cart are blind pop-rivets. If you get the OEM rivet kit the pneumatic gun will handle MOST of them. A few of the rivets are larger than the gun capacity, but by removing the nose-piece it is able to handle those 1/4" rivets. At least the one I used was, and it looked identical to the one you linked to.

I agree with Gornoman. I have used $50 and $1500 models, they all work the same. The only difference is the body's repairabilty and interchangability of head units. Just keep the cheaper ones well oiled for a long life.

Since all metal blind rivets are designed to either have the stem pull all the way through or break at a certain torque, it doesn't matter what you use to squeeze the rivet.

Thanks.

Can you guys tell me where I can get the rivet for the charger port? It know it has 3 "wings" on it and it's "designed for plastic" but I can't seem to find them anywhere.

The rivet gun you listed is a 1/4 gun which will work for the big body side rivets. All the rest are 3/16 but that gun had a head for that. I use this one from Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/3-16-in...ter-93458.html Caught it in store with a 20% coupon. It won't do the big rivets but I don't use those anyway..

Charger rivet should be 71055G01
