Wiring 12V Headlights on 36V cart
We have a early 80's 36v ez-go cart. What is the best way to wire headlights to the cart?
Thanks |

Re: Wiring 12V Headlights on 36V cart
Take the positive wire from the headlight switch to the #1 battery positive post and the negative wire from the lights to the #2 battery negative post. This will give you 12 volts to run the lights. Do not ground to the frame etc only to the battery.

Re: Wiring 12V Headlights on 36V cart
Thanks for the welcome. Hooking the lights to the #1 and 2 battery, will that use the whole system for use or only those two batteries? Wouldnt hooking it up that way cause the total voltage to the lights to be 36v??
thanks eb |

Re: Wiring 12V Headlights on 36V cart
Only those 2 batteries.
Unless you get a DC to DC converter which will use 36volts from the entire pack of batteries. .........or use 36 volt bulbs. You said: Wouldnt hooking it up that way cause the total voltage to the lights to be 36v?? No, not as long as you use 2 batteries tied to each other for 12 volts. |

A volt meter, especially a digital one, is your friend!
