Axe or spm?
Thinking about installing the newer spm 500 amp on my cart instead of the axe.
94 medalist 2 gauge welding cable D and d high speed fan cooled motor Original fnr (will replace with heavy duty) I like the idea of the spm being fan cooled, but don't like the idea of it being relatively new on the market. Anyone with first hand experience, or know someone with one? Thanks in advance. Steve |

Re: Axe or spm?
Do a search, there is another SPM thread that has links to info.
There were some initial ITS throttle quirks but that would not apply to your 0-5k Marathon. The output is higher but like you say the SPM is new and the AXE is a proven option, with more than 10 years of testing and tweaking. Alltrax has the AXE perfected. Carts Unlimited will be offering SPM controller pkgs this year. Right now the SPM500 is $499 which puts the cost equal to the AXE500. Peak output for the SPM 500 is 575 amps. There are a lot more user adjustments that can be made. So many that it is a study course in itself just to program it.... |
