Default 2005 ez go pds freedom beep then go

hello everyone , i have an ez go 2005 pds freedom . just purchased it and was wondering why it all of a sudden slows down to a halt then beeps a few times then goes again with out turning the key just stepping on the accelerator. when i bought it the fellow said it will stop and beep a few times when it needs a charge was this false information. I had some corrosion on one of the posts but hasnt really done it after i cleaned that ,but have only used it a few times . talked to shp about it and they said bring it in 70.00 we will test it 70.00 then if its the controller or something like that its another 120.00 plus labour to re in re 80.00 . if i pull the codes and shows up as a speed controler or similar is it easier to do it your self . or is this their way of making some big dollars off an unsepecting customer thanks

It might be going into the low-voltage mode due to poor battery connections, but the batteries need to be charged after each use.
If the previous owner drove the cart until it beeped before charging, you probably need, or will soon need, a new set of batteries.

Electric golf carts are fairly simple machines that require routine battery maintenance and many cart owners do their own repairs and upgrades.

To maintain the cart, you will need a DMM (Digital Multi-Meter) and you can download the Owner, Service and Parts manuals form the Stickies at the top of this forum.
They are the three .pdf file near the top of this post: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...g-manuals.html

Attached is the label on the controller cover. The text at the bottom tell you how to put the controller in diagnostic mode.
Drive the cart in diagnostic mode and let us know what the beep codes are when it misbehaves.
