Default wiring new lights, brake light, turn signals, 1997 ezgo dcs 36v

I recently cut in a factory style light kit with brakes and turn signals. I want to use a 3 position key switch. I would prefer to be able to use the brakes and turn signals without headlights but of course don't want the brake lights to stay on while parking brake is engaged. Would it make sense to add another switch to (maybe the one that came with kit) to operate head and tail lights in addition to the key switch, plans are to use an 12v battery in addition to the pack, also thoughts the additional batter? thanks to all!

You could wire a relay so when you turn the key on you would get the brake lights and turn signal, then use the third position to turn on headlights.

I put a headlight, turn and tailight kit on my sister's cart a few months back. Included with the kit was a seperate switch for the headlights and it had a delayed timer switch on the brakes so they would go off after being on for 30 seconds. Any switch would work for the headlight and if you look around you might be able to locate a timer switch that would work for the brake lights.
