Toe-in???

I just installed a 6" jakes spindle lift on my RXV. What's everyone's opinion with proper toe-in? I want to hear what's worked best for y'all? Not just RXV, any cart? I had the tie rods adjusted with a slight toe-in to start with, but the cart would try and switch lanes pretty quick (not real safe in my opinion). I adjusted the toe-in back out to almost straight, seems to drive better but still kinda squirly on asphalt. I'm running 12" wheels, 22" Sahara classic tires, and the RXV is running about 23mph.

What's the pros and cons, and whats the easiest way to get the best driving experience?? And, I know I got to get some pics posted. Thanks guys.

The toe-in should be 1/8th of an inch.

Chalk a center line on the tires. Measure the rear of the tire. Then measure the front of the tire, it should be within 1/8". If it isn't, adjust and repeat the steps. Remember you have to re-measure after adjusting the tie rods.

Adjusting toe-in to within 1/8" with tires mounted is hard and inaccurate. The best way is pull the wheels and using two straight edges centered on the hubs, mark lines for tire diameter and adjust toe direct off the hubs. Much more accurate.

1/8" at what measurement from the center line of the axle? I love how everyone always says 1/8 - 1/4" Why don't we use Deg. because 1/8 at the point you'er showing in the pic is a diffident Deg. than at the distance of a stock diameter tire.. Just say-in....

1/8" toe-in for the diameter tire you're running. My picture shows 11" forward from center for a 22" tire. Don't forget to measure aft of center too for calculating the 1/8" total.

That's correct. If the straight edge your using off your hubs are 24" long then 1/4" at the end will be much less then 1/4" off the end of a 12" straight edge. The 1/4" rule only applies to stock size wheels/tires. The bigger the outside diameter of your tires the higher your toe in measurement (in inches) will be but it will remain the same angle. (See attached pic I whipped up)

I'm not smart enough to figure out the angle of two lines that do not intersect - so I went by the seat of my pants in the cart and it worked out great. I started at 0° and went for a test run then came back and made a minor adjustment. Then repeat again and again until it feels stable. You'll want to stop at that point - and DON'T take big swings at it because if you go too far, it will still feel stable but you'll really eat up your tires on the pavement and not get as much mileage between charges. The top end speed is miniscule in difference, but with too much toe-in, it will be slower as well.

Keep making minor adjustments and testing until your changes no longer make a noticeable difference. Then come home and back off your adjustment a little - you'll know when you get it right and you'll have a very stable ride.
