Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
I know I have seen them before, but am having problems finding threads to cover what I am after. I am considering swapping out my T-875s for 8 6 volts to get farther range, my EZGO on 48 volts burns through the batteries faster about 25% faster than my Club Club on the same T-875 setup. So I need some pictures to figure out where to move the controller and install everything.
TIA. |

Re: Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
I haven't done it yet but mocked up an possible solution. 6 in the normal spots, 1 in driver side bay and the last in the passenger side bay. I then cut the feet off the back of the original controller mount and pushed it back a few inches. Was tight but it all fit

Re: Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
There it is I was determined to show how Western could have improved their 8/6v layout by fitting both the 8th battery and the F&R on the passenger side.
I played hell getting it to fit in there and work well in the space provided. I shortened up the pivot shaft on the F&R and made some linkage changes before it worked. But it works like a dream and is still one of the easiest shifting F&Rs on any series cart. The batteries I used were extra tall T245. I see Mark is side stepping this headache with a solenoid shift. Smart move, my man. Notice here the charge receptacle has been flipped to fit so it angles up instead of down. A necessary change with the taller battery. The DC reducer mounted behind this battery. |

Re: Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
Thanks for the pictures that gives me some ideas. This is a DCS cart, and I really don't want to hack into the extending the harness, although I could if I needed to. I am trying to figure out if I relocate the solenoid and make a custom controller bracket if I could get the DCX500 and a battery on the passenger side.
The other question is what do you think I could sell 6 T-875s made is March 2012 for. I figure Trojans are good for 5 years, so I would take 20% off what I could pay for them locally. |

Re: Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
Also, how is the best way to figure out how much more capacity or run I will have with 8 t-105s compared to 6 T-875?

Re: Pictures of 8 6 volts in TXT
Is the controller mounted to the stock controller mount ? if so, I am pretty sure you can cut the back of the feet off the mount enough for it to slide back until it hits the inner fender or close. That will give enough room to drop a battery in front of it.
