Default Controller/ITS issue- 2007 PDS

Need some advice gentlemen.

Cart moves in forward fine. Switch to reverse, buzzer sounds and cart will start to move in reverse then stop. If I’m backing down a decline, like down the slope of a driveway, the cart moves easily in reverse, uphill or any resistance, and the cart stops moving. I am going to perform scottyb’s diagnostics on the controller and ITS, but would like any input if someone has experienced these symptoms before.

I've never experienced it before, but the PDS is a "Fly-by-wire" system and the difference between F & R is the direction of current flow in the motor's field windings, which is switched inside the controller.
External to the controller is the F/R rocker switch on the dash that sends battery pack voltage to J1 Pin-3 for F and J1 Pin-2 for R.

If the beeper continues to beep in R and the cart isn't moving, the controller is probably bad.

Sounds like a nice excuse to upgrade to a DCX400(PDS) controller and HD solenoid.

I received the controller and installed it yesterday. I am still experiencing issues with the cart moving in reverse. Cart starts to move backwards then stop...buzzer sounding continuously. Works fine sometimes. Could I have a motor issue? The is no noticeable performance improvement with the Alltrax. Speed and torque are the same as with the stock Curtis. Any input is greatly appreciated.

That's odd.

Check the F1/F2 cables for damage. See attached,

You should have about 1/3 more torque because you up the amps from, 300 to 400 (if you went with the DCX400)
You should also have more speed because the controller no longer limits the Motor's RPM to 4,400 max (in Freedom mode)

I'll be out of town a few days, but I'm sure Scotty will be along shortly, or give him a yell if not.

I have inspected the F1/F2 wires and didn't find any frayed spots. I put a meter on the battery pack, at rest the pack reads 38.2. In forward wide open the voltage drops to 36, but I saw it go as low as 34.6, and in reverse the voltage stays at 38.2 when the cart doesn't move. What is strange is when the cart does move in reverse, it seems to have more torque than it does in forward. Any other ideas?

On a PDS cart the F&R rocker can get corroded and fail to signal the control. The wires to the switch should be checked too. Where are you at with this cart?

Is the solenoid clicking like normal when the cart won't go?
