Default Smoked charger, salvageable or no?

Found this in my garage today, then opened up the charger to see the damage. Is this thing toast or can it be fixed? This is my first time having to look inside and dont even know what im missing. Just glad it didnt start a fire or if there was one, that it didnt spread. Any ideas what went wrong gurus?

If the transformer is still good, it might be repairable, but it will probably be cheaper in the long run to replace it with a DPI charger. And Safer!!!

To check transformer, remove the two black wires that attach to the diodes and the two white wires that attached to what used to by the capacitor.
Jumper the relay and measure the voltage between the two black wires and two white wires.

Black wires should have 60VAC +/- 5VAC.
White wires should be about 480VAC.

How common is this? I have mine hanging from hooks right next to the ceiling, and leave it unattended all day. Glad nothing else bad happened with yours.

I wouldn't bother. Good used and better new chargers aren't all that uncommon.
