What size trailer should I get?
I have an 1988 Marathon electric cart and I want to get a small trailer so I can pull the cart behind my truck. What is the smallest but best size trailer I should be looking for?
Thank you |

Re: What size trailer should I get?
A 5'x9' would be the smallest if you have lifted it,since the tires will stick out on a 4'-wide trailer.Look around,They are under $800 brand new,so used should be quite a bit less.Hope this helps.

5' wide is the minimum width for a lifted cart. You'll have 4-6 inches on each side of the tires. If you have a seat kit or a basket on the rear, you"ll need a 10' length. You'll have about 12" of extra length with a 5x10. Just my 2 cents. PBB

Re: What size trailer should I get?
Ive got a 6x10 with 3500lb axles. Its perfect for me and im very happy with it. Leaves you a little room to breathe. I know I had a 4x8 and it was the perfect size to fit a cart on it but when you get going at highway speeds, it liked to sway. With the 6x10, none of that. Id definitely go 6x10 or 5x10 with 3500lb axles.

I have a 6'x12' with a fold down ramp on both the back and side near the front. I can fit a Honda rancher fourwheeler and a lifted cart on it. My next trailer would be one that can fit 2 carts.

Re: What size trailer should I get?
I got a 16'x7' landscape-trailer last year,I can fit 2 carts front to back.We had 2 parts-carts sideways across the back and a Workhorse driven on backwards at the front.I want to remove a section of the rail in front on one side,so I can load 2-quads sideways, then drive one on from the rear.

Re: What size trailer should I get?
Depends on where I am going.....
When I am just running locally I use either a 6X12 (which will fit a lifted 6 passenger cart) or the 7X18 (which will fit 2 standard carts or 1 lifted 8 passenger cart) When I am going to play I use the 8.5X20 deckover (fits 1 lifted 2 passenger and 5 Quads) |
