More speed
I have a 1990 EZGO that needs more speed. I need to know how to achieve this without using a lot of cash. Thanks for helping me.....It's stock and 36volt

1990 was a decade before PDS drive systems with "Speed Chips" existed and 5 years before the DCS drive system with a Sepex motor was produced, so you have a series wound motor. With a series wound motor, there are three ways to increase speed. 1. Change the final drive ratio, which also reduces torque. (Taller tires and/or gear ratio) 2. Increase battery pack voltage. (48V) 3. Install a high speed motor. In each case, the rest of the drive system (High current cables, Controller, Solenoid and F/R Switch) will have to be upgraded to deliver the Amps needed to propel the cart faster. What is the cart's speed at present? What speed are you wanting to get to? |
