Welcome to BGW
Did it work before you replaced the batteries? |

We were told that it only needed batteries, but since none were in the cart we were unable to test it. Should I assume that if the batteries charge we have the batteries connected correctly? And there is a white wire and black wire comming from the box where charger is plugged in and we have them connected white wire to 5th battery and black wire to 6th battery negative I think. Also there is a red wire leading to a box on the front right side of the cart.

Download this service manual. Its about 31 megs so it may take a lil while but it will be worth it. You will need a PDF viewer. It has all the wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting info you will need. http://www.ransomes-jacobsen.biz/spe...%20English.pdf
Where is your F/R switch located....is it a rocker type switch or a lever? A rocker type will be a PDS and a Lever will be a Non-PDS...AKA Series style. |

Ok, the manual has both diagrams. One is labeld PDS and the other Non-PDS. You need to look at the Non-PDS. Look through there, do some troubleshooting and get back to us if you have any trouble.
Also....a Volt/ohm meter is a must have tool for any electric cart owner. You can find a decent meter at Wal-mart for around $25....or less. |

96 can be either fleet or DCS. PDS didn't start until model year 2000. If cart has a Run/Tow switch on controller cover it is a DCS. Otherwise it's a fleet/series cart.
