New controller and now no forward but I have reverse
Looking for help....
I installed my goodies from Scottyb and apparently I do not have something right. I turn the key on, release the brake, put it in Forward, press the pedal and nothing. I do hear the solenoid click. I put it in reverse and the beeper sounds and when I press the pedal it moves as expected. So looking at the controller while in forward the green LED comes on when the solenoid clicks, blinks 4 times and goes solid. I press the pedal with nothing happening until it goes to the floor then the rapid RED/GREEN blink. This does not happen in reverse, the LED does what it is supposed to. I drove it Sunday and pulled the batteries and all out Monday and just put it all back together tonight. 1996 EZ-GO TXT, ALLTRAX SPM48500 Any ideas? I thought I read a thread about this recently but did not find it in the search. I will continue to search |

Did you read the instructions on your controller about what the light blinks mean?

check the fnr switch just to make sure contact is good in forward. you can email scotty and he will get back to you pretty quick from my experience.

Urban. Is brutal...
The blinks mean there is a short but it does not make sense that the blink does not happen unless it is full throttle. I checked all the wiring and they are correct from what I can tell. If there is a short, where would it be in forward vs. reverse? |

Sounds like Alltrax had him send the controller to them for testing. I'd give Scotty a yell, he may have some insight on this. |

Re: New controller and now no forward but I have reverse
Thanks JonnieB, I was going to do that today.
The F&R switch when I first put it in did not much movement. I thought it was just out of adjustment but when I was rotating the mechanism it did not look right. It was hard to see inside the cart so I took it out and compared it to the original and sure enough it only had half the range of motion. It ended up being a corner of the copper sheet was sticking out just enough to get caught on the plastic "stops". After I cut that corner off and it cleared all was good. I put it back it and perfect range but the center (neutral) was not in the middle so I adjusted it and that was it. That was my only hassle, I had everything out of the cart because I refinished the battery rack and wanted to clean everything up in there. |

Re: New controller and now no forward but I have reverse
i know it sounds to easy but if the center shaft of the fnr isnt annoyingly tight this can happen. i backed the nut off a half to a full turn when i did the upgrade because it was real tight and my 48500 gave 4 green then an error. tightened it back up because it was the only thing i could think i messed with and it was fine. the other Day i tried it with my kids cart so my daughter can shift it easier and had reverse no forward.
i know it sounds to simple but worth a shot. Good luck. |

Re: New controller and now no forward but I have reverse
That is something to consider. The F&R switch was the first thing I installed and nothing else was in the cart. I have it adjusted perfectly but did not have to tighten any of those. I will look at that tonight after I talk with ScottyB
